Just a day after Apple unveiled the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus , details of the Samsung Galaxy S7, the company's next smartphone, have leaked, according to SamMobile . The new phone, code named "Project Lucky," appeared on Geekbench , a site that measures the performance of computer hardware and software and assigns it a numerical ranking. The benchmark revealed the specs of the Galaxy S7 — or at least the specs of the device Samsung is testing — which include a new 20-megapixel camera, a more powerful Exynos 8890 processor, and faster flash storage called "UFS 2.0." The new camera comes with an associated project called "all lens cover," the details of which are unknown. SamMobile speculates that it could be the addition of a new lens, but the technology is likely to be in its infancy at this early stage of testing. Apple just officially announced the iPhone 6s yesterday, but the most hotly anticipated smartphone of the year is already on sale. On Thursday morning, T-Mobile announced that it would be kicking off a limited time promotion in which customers will be able to pick up a 16GB iPhone 6s for $125 off the regular price. Traditionally, on T-Mobile’s 18-month JUMP program, you’d be paying $649 over a year and a half, but with the promotion, that price will be cut down to $524. After paying $20/month for 18 months, you can either give the phone back or pay the remaining $164 to keep your iPhone 6s for good. T-Mobile is making the deal even more attractive by allowing customers to leave T-Mobile if they’re unhappy with the coverage they receive from the carrier. All you have to do is tell T-Mobile that you’re unsatisfied, and they’ll unlock your phone for free while letting you continue to pay for the device itself on the 18-month plan. Samsung started trolling Apple during the company’s iPhone 6s keynote, using all sorts of snarky remarks on Twitter. Just as we expected, Apple announced the next versions of its best-selling smartphones, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, at its annual launch event in San Francisco. Also as we expected, the iPhone 6S looks identical to last year's 4.7-inch iPhone 6, reserving its most important changes for the hardware interior. True, there is a new color now, called rose gold (it basically looks like a blush pink, same as the new Apple Watch color option that the company announced). But as far as looks go, this extra shade is the extent of the the changes you'll be able to visually detect between this year's and last year's phones. Apple's emphasis on hardware upgrades over design development follows the pattern that the Cupertino-based company has long established: significant changes come in the even years and incremental updates in the odd.
