Samsung started trolling Apple during the company’s iPhone 6s keynote, using all sorts of snarky remarks on Twitter. But that’s not enough for the giant Korean corporation that happens to be one of the leading iPhone parts provider and Apple’s most important rival in the smartphone business, so Samsung came out with a new ad campaign that manages to show off a feature the iPhone 6s doesn’t have, while also making fun – and copy – Apple’s latest iPhone adds.
Titled “It’s not a phone, it’s a Galaxy,” the short ad focuses on the one feature you can’t expect from any iPhone – well, not right out of the box – and that’s wireless charging that’s available on the three Galaxy S6 devices (regular, edge and edge+) and on the Galaxy Note 5.
Oh and yes, the ad, which was released on day after Apple’s iPhone 6s event, likely to make sure the iPhone 6s don’t have wireless charging batteries, show an iPhone 6 Plus a few times, just to reinforce the idea that the iPhone is not a Galaxy.
The title of the short TV commercial is also a clear hit at Apple’s series of iPhone ads the company aired in the past few months. Titled “If it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone,” Apple’s ads focused on various iPhone features, with the company clearly making the point that the iPhone is better than any competing device.
